Who are we?

We have been together for more than 10 years! After having spent lots of trips and weekends overseas, we decided to move to Sydney in 2015. We left our comfortable life in Paris to try a new experience on the other side of the world.

It has always been Annabelle’s dream to do a round world trip and in 2016, Edouard was finally ready! We kept exploring Australia while we worked on this project.

Below, we are answering some questions for you to know us better.

From all the countries you visited before this trip, which one is your favourite?

Given the fact that I travelled a lot with my family when I was young, it is very difficult to answer! I would say that it is Australia, where we have been living for 3 years. It is an amazing country for its landscapes, crystal blue water beaches and warm weather all year around. Landscapes are very diversed and even after 3 years exploring, there are still lots of places to visit!

What are the criteria for a successul trip?

For a short-term trip (what we are used to), I would say the beauty of the landscapes and also how Edouard and I get along with each other. Generally, we agree on the rythm of the trip and the planning but when unexcepted situations occur, it is better to support each other! Finally, be in contact with the locals allows us to better understand the culture and share some unexpected moments!

From the countries you are going to visit during this trip, which one do you most look forward to?

I would say Namibia because I don't know very well Africa. I look forward to driving a 4x4 during a safari trip and discovering African desert.

What is Edouard's main strength for this trip?

In addition to his positive mindset, Edouard is always very patient with any situation, even with some very frustrated ones!

What is Edouard's main weakness for this trip?

Edouard is an introvert. Sometimes, he needs me to push him to ask for favours or simply talk to people he doesn't know. His favourite sentence in this situation: "No, please, can you ask?"

What is the most useful accessory for this trip?

With no doubt, my camera. It will allow us to take some memorable pictures of our trip and share them with you.

What will you miss the most?

Daily comfort. Not having my own bed and having to pack up every day will be tiring after months, I suppose.

From all the countries you visited before this trip, which one is your favourite?

Without a doubt: Australia. There is everything there, landscapes, wilderness for miles around.

What are the criteria for a successfull trip?

A successful trip is composed of adventures, discoveries, meeting people and taking the time. Of course, on top of that, add good food :)

From the countries you are going to visit during this trip, which one do you most look forward to?

Obviously, Iceland! I had to convice Annabelle over a long period of time to add it to the trip. It's true, it makes us take a detour and also true that it is an expensive country. However, I can't wait to see an aurora borealis, geysers and waterfalls. On top of that we will be doing all of this in camping mode haha! All what makes a successful trip!

What is Annabelle's main strength for this trip?

OR-GA-NI-SED! With her, everything is planned. Of course we can change things at the last minute. However, when we arrive in a country she has already prepared a todo list of the must see, good restaurants to try and many walks to do. I have to admit, it is super handy!

What is Annabelle's main weakness for this trip?

She really is impatient. Traffic, staying too long in bed in the morning, whatever task that is repetitive and takes more than 5 minutes and she is boiling to do something else. We always have to be doing something. During this trip, as we are not tied to time, I really hope that she will enjoy taking time to do things.

What is the most useful accessory for this trip?

I have lots of hope in our tent. I know, it's not comfortable but I am really looking forward to the opportunities of living unique adventures and the freedom that it gives us.

What will you miss the most?

Well, this trip is made for us to quit what we know as "comfort": having a home, lay on the sofa, watch some Netflix and order food!
